A ROOM WITH A VIEW I-IX

UPPVAKET - public commission at day surgery, Gävle Sjukhus

 

In 2013 Barolo/Mårtensson received an artistic assignment by the  Gävle County to create nine artistic pieaces for the windows between the beds in the day surgery recovery room at the Gävle Hospital.

 

In March 2014 they were all mounted. The idea is based on the state of the patient when he or she is slowly waking up from the anesthesia.

 

First you see a little light and then color. After what seems to be a long time with blur, focus is achieved. In the colours of the windows you are able to rest your eyes or perhaps discern a landscape. The landscape seen through train windows.
